Acer today officially unveiled its new line of M Series Ultrabooks with Windows 8 which will be offered exclusively in Best Buy stores throughout the United States. The Aspire M5-481PT is equipped with a 10 point multi-touch display, allowing users to open and close programs or browse through applications using simple touch and gestures.The Aspire M5-481PT features a new 14-inch, 10 point multi-touch display, allowing users direct on-screen control over Windows 8 and its applications. The HD display is a “frameless” style with edge-to-edge glass maximizing the amount of space dedicated to the Ultrabook’s multi-touch interface.The Acer Aspire M5-481PT features an Intel Ivy Bridge Core i5 3317UB CPU clocked at 1.7 GHz with 2 GB of DDR3 RAM (upgradeable up to 6 GB) and a 500 GB hard disk drive with a 20 GB solid state drive. This leads to a decent run in performance, even with the Intel HD 4000 128 MB graphics card somewhat inhibiting the system.The number of ports is also slightly lackadaisical with two USB 3.0, an Ethernet port and HDMI.
