Nokia will imminently announce a brace of Windows Phone 8 handsets, sources abreast of matters have revealed.
Nokia is planning to unveil two new Windows Phone 8 devices at a joint event with Microsoft on September 5th. According to The Verge, Nokia will officially announce two new additions to its Lumia range, codenamed ‘Arrow’ and ‘Phi’, when it takes the stage with Microsoft at a joint event in New York on September 5th.The Phi is said to be a high-end device, sporting a polycarbonate chassis and a large ‘curved glass’ display. We’re thinking something along the lines of the Lumia 900, except bigger. The Arrow, meanwhile, will be a mid-range kit. However, details of its design weren’t forthcoming. No word as to what specs the handsets might pack, but we need only to look at some of the features Windows Phone 8 will bring to make an educated guess. Among these is support for multi-core processors, high-definition resolutions, Near Field Communications and at long last, SD cards. Our guess is the Phi will probably have the lot, while the Arrow will come without an HD resolution or an SD card slot.
